Joanne Nova claims that Global Warming has been disproved and lists 9 “Major Flaws” – or so she says.

  1. The missing heat is not in the ocean.
  2. Satellites show a warmer Earth is releasing extra energy to space.
  3. The models get core assumptions wrong – the hot spot is missing.
  4. Clouds cool the planet as it warms.
  5. The models are wrong on a local, regional, or continental scale.
  6. Eight different methods suggest a climate sensitivity of 0.4°C.
  7. Has CO2 warmed the planet at all in the last 50 years? It’s harder to tell than you think.
  8. Even if we assume it’s warmed since 1979, and assume that it was all CO2, if so, feedbacks are zero — disaster averted.
  9. It was as warm or warmer 1000 years ago. Models can’t explain that. It wasn’t CO2.  The models can’t predict past episodes of warming, so why would they predict future ones?

The US will not know the full extent of greenhouse emissions for 2012 until apr 2014 yet the deniers are already claiming a big reduction for the US despite not going with Kyoto,

    • I’ll take a screenshot or cache that one.

Hi John, what will Kyoto achieve at a practical level?

      • john byatt

It displays that some countries can overcome the problem of the tragedy of the commons. There is hope where none would exist without it.
see kieth, i accept the science and can understand the catastrophy that humanity will face in the future,
You believe that physics, chemistry and about 30 other fields of science are all wrong, The only people who could possibly hold such a position a fundamentalist christians

so, as they say if you look like a duck.

Sorry John, I wasn’t explicit enough. I would like to know what Kyoto would achieve at a practical level. Ignore the religion, faith and general crystal gazing feel good stuff. Just tell me what in a practical sense Kyoto would achieve, even in theory. Thanks.

So you want me to ignore the real reasons that we are not progressing beond kyoto and want to debate facts and figures
you ignore facts and figures keith, Why do you spend your days opposed to the science kieth?

You cannot ignore the faith and religion keith, as you well know.

Lets be honest kieth, i started off many years ago apathetic towards climate change, to anyone reading the newspapers it did appear that there was actually a debate taking place, was the science settled or not, it became a personal interest for me with neither side being given greater authority over the other, I accept the authority of science as we all should and maintain scepticism for things that have not yet been held to a high degree of certainty, I was challenged to study the science, which i did,
without religous baggage, without believing that some flying spaghetti monster controlled our destiny I used pure logic to resolve the issue,
That the science was certain, now at the 99% confidence level that humans are warming the earth through fossil fuel use was undeniable to any person without the religous baggage, So i became active in debate because i could understand that while you are continuing to emit CO2 and other greenhouse gases the physics tells us that the planet will continue to trap heat and warm
I find that appeals such as the clouds will maintain the current temperature to be nothing more than an appeal to a magical earth that has been designed by a god just for humans.

What say you keithAB? can you be honest?

Nova lacks a lot of things. She ignores, no, she denies evidence that to any sane person is as plain as the nose on their face.

“Joanne Codling (Jo Nova) and her partner David Evans cling to more traditional anti-semitic ideas,”

anti semitic ideas. now where would they come from? ,

“What better way to staunch protests at worsening economic and life conditions than to make it feel like an honourable job/duty of the people to save “Gia”. At the same time, they used this “science” as new pagan religion to further push out the Christianity they hate and despise and most of all, fear? Gia worship, the earth “mother”, has been pushed in popular culture oozing out of the West for a better part of the past 1.5 decades. This is a religion replete with an army of priests, called Government Grant Scientists.”
