Denier Comment of the Day March 3, 2013

I was born and bred a banana bender, or for those unfamiliar with what that means, I was born and bred in Queensland, Australia. I’m a proud Queenslander and parochial too. For years we Queenslanders have had to put up with our southern states looking down their noses at us and calling us country hicks, hillbillies, banana benders and I have always maintained that it’s not the case. We are just as intelligent as the rest of Australia, but then along comes some idiot who just has to prove the southerners right. Introducing “bananabender” This person, commenting over at JoNova’s has decided that rather than say something supported by evidence, he is just going to make stuff up. Here it is…

did it really

The coldest summer in decades? Really? I guess since 11 people in the echo chamber at Jo’s are agreeing with you it must be true. Let’s just check…

chartWell, February was cooler than the long term average but December and January certainly weren’t. The overall summer average was warmer than the long term average as well. But of course everyone knows the BOM is in on the giant global warming scam being paid for by Jewish bankers determined to bring in a communist world government. I guess the only advice I can give to bananabender is if you’re going to make stuff up, try a bit harder to make it believable or perhaps try making stuff up that can’t be checked and discarded in minutes with just a few clicks of the mouse. A better idea, of course would be to look at the data and tell the truth.

Bananabender: doing his bit to reinforce the myth that Queenslanders are stupid.

They have not yet figured out that when it is pouring rain every day that the temp will be less , something to do with cloudy skies

If one were to be generous about their motives for lying, when it’s too easy to catch them out, it could be to do with their memory (too old or too young) and/or age creeping up on them and they feel the chill more.

The world hasn’t had a year at or colder than the twentieth century average in about 30 years, don’t know about Brisbane, which means a large proportion of the population have never experienced what it’s like.

More likely incompetence or deliberate deceit. I recall someone proclaiming that ‘Brisbane has had its coldest day on record’. Puzzled and sceptical, I checked. Sure enough, they weren’t referring to Brisbane as a whole, they were referring to Logan City, which had only started keeping records twenty years earlier!

And mustn’t forget one of our favourite ‘warmists’ cautions – Brisbane isn’t the whole world.

They’re a stupid, hopeless bunch. If that blokes a bananabender I’d have to check each banana to see if he’d done it right…

There has been predictable dissent from the usual suspects directed at the BOMs pronouncement. None of it has looked at the data or BOMs claims dispassionately, but instead has attempted diversions or insisted on including data the BOM did not use for quality consistency reasons.
