Today’s comment comes courtesy of Bernard Harvey, commenting on my post about Anthony Watts making comments disappear and blocking people, including myself. Bernard says…
uknowisspeaksense, don’t make more of that than it actually is. The simple reason your posts disappear at WUWT is because you are banned. It’s not as if your posts are (or were) profound, though provoking or even damaging to the arguments of those on the skeptical side of the climate debate. Your a troll, borderline abusive, a timesink for the moderators, and quite frankly, you come across as a bit of an asshole. (Yes, Ironic. I know.)
I have answered Bernard in the comment section at that post but what I would like to highlight here is the actual irony. But first, a few admissions, just in case anyone accuses me of calling the kettle black.
1. Anthony Watts can do whatever he likes at his blog. It’s his blog. I don’t have a problem with that.
2. I am happy to admit that I do on occasion throw insults at deniers. Most of them are idiots.
3. I am happy to concede that deniers would consider me an arsehole. Given I don’t give much weight to any of their opinions, it doesn’t bother me what they think of me. I’m not that precious.
So to Bernard, ummmm, let’s talk about irony. You comment here and explain that my posts (which you probably haven’t ever read) weren’t profound or thought provoking. I must say your comment was neither profound or thought provoking. You accuse me of being a troll….ummm, given your intent here was to provoke me, one could accuse you of being a troll. You call me borderline abusive but then suggest I “come across as a bit of an asshole”. Well, ummm, have a look in the mirror dickhead. None of that is actually ironic though. It’s pure hypocrisy. What is truly ironic is that you posted your sanctimonious nonsense in my post about Anthony Watts’ sanctimony. Classic.
But let’s also have a quick look at the types of comments that do make it onto Anthony Watts’ blog…
“I thought you might be sensitive to our planet, but now I see that you are an ignoramus whose lack of understanding will mean that you will be implicitly implicated when climate disaster strikes the earth! Oooooh, I can’t stand this pain any longer, living on the same planet with people like you!!”
“According to the warmista, CO2 is all harm and no benefit. Even mentioning the possibility of benefit is enough to prove that you are a flat earther.”
“John, you forgot the /sarc tag; people may think you’re serious. Alternatively, if you’re serious and you can’t stand the pain, feel free to end it by ending yourself. More room for the rest of us.”
“(sigh) I cannot seem to get the dreadful image out of my head of Hansen bent over licking himself…”
Yep, some really thought-provoking, insightful, profound comments there. Asking someone to commit suicide is ok at WUWT but questioning the quality of Anthony’s blog-reviewed manuscript isn’t. Like i said though, Anthony’s blog. He can do what he likes. I will however, continue to highlight how moronic he and his followers, like Bernard here, are.
